Hypothyroidism is a term used to describe an underactive thyroid. The thyroid is a small gland located in the neck that helps regulate the endocrine system. The endocrine system is responsible for many bodily functions such as heart rate, body temperature and breathing among others and hormone secretion. Hashimotos is a disorder that falls under autoimmune disease. This meaning that the body started to attack its own cells and tissues in the thyroid gland. Patients who have already had a diagnosis often seek treatment from us because they are on medication but still experiencing symptoms. We help those who have already had a diagnosis and those who have not.
